Theotokos Theological Institute is a Coptic Orthodox institution affiliated with the Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria, offering theological education rooted in the teachings and traditions of the Coptic Orthodox Church.

The Institute operates under His Holiness Pope Tawadros II and is guided by His Grace Bishop Karas, Bishop of the Diocese of Pennsylvania and its affiliated regions.
What programs are being offered?
We currently offer a 2-year Diploma in Theological Studies (English), a 1-year Diploma in Christian Counseling (English), Theological Studies Certificates (Arabic), and a variety of non-degree courses open to all learners.
Are courses offered online or in person?
All courses are offered fully online. The courses are both live lectures and recorded sessions, allowing students to participate in real-time or watch at their convenience.
Who can enroll in the Institute?
Our courses are open to all who seek a deeper understanding of Coptic Orthodox theology—whether clergy, servants, laypeople, students, or even those from other backgrounds who are eager to learn more about the Coptic Orthodox Church.
Do I need prior theological training to join?
No prior theological education is required. Applicants should have at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
What language are courses taught in?
All courses in both the Theological Studies Diploma and the Christian Counseling Diploma are taught in English. In addition, we offer Theological Studies Certificates in Arabic.
How much do courses cost?
Each semester in the Theological Studies Diploma costs $100 (which covers two courses)
Each semester in theChristian Counseling Diploma costs $150 (which covers three courses)
Can I take individual courses instead of the full program?
Yes, students may audit individual courses on a semester basis or enroll in the full diploma program
Will I receive a certificate upon completion?
Yes, students who successfully complete the program will receive a certificate from Theotokos Theological Institute, granted under the blessing of His Grace Bishop Karas.
Who teaches the courses?
Courses are taught by qualified clergy and scholars from within the Coptic Orthodox Church, with deep theological knowledge and pastoral experience.
